This bachelor thesis tries to depict the development of cynology in Britain and in the Czech Republic and compare the dog keeping and breeding tradition in both countries. Tato bakalářská práce se snaží zachytit vývoj kynologie v Británii a České republice a porovnat tradici chovu a šlechtění psů v obou zemích. Práce se skládá z pěti kapitol, které chonologicky popisují historii kynologie od domestikace psa v pravěku, přes ranou historii, středověk, novověk až po současnost.
