Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou, jak zdravotní sestry vnímají umírání a smrt pacientů na svém oddělení. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části jsou charakterizována témata jako umírání, smrt, paliativní péče, potřeby umírajících a časté potíže u onkologických pacientů v terminálním stádiu. Další téma se věnují osobnosti sestry a péči o pečující. Empirická část vyplývá z kvalitativního výzkumu, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jak vnímají sestry umírání a smrt na svém oddělení, jak samy přistupují k všeobecnému tématu smrt, jaké jsou podmínky pro umírající pacienty na jejich oddělení a jak pečují o své fyzické a duševní zdraví. Kritériem, pro výběr vhodných respondentů jsou pracující sestry na onkologic-kém pracovišti, které pečují o terminálně nemocné pacienty.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis describes how nurses cope with the death of patients at their department. Thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes topics such as dying, death, palliative care, the needs of the dying patients and frequent problems of patients with cancer who are currently in the terminal stage. Following topics describe the personality of nurses taking care of people who take care of others. The empirical part is based on qualitative research, which aimed to find out how nurses perceive death and what are the conditions for dying patients at their department and how nurses take care of their own physical and mental health. The selection of suitable respondents for this thesis was based on criteria that respond-ents work as nurses at the oncology department where they take care of terminally ill patients.
