Economical transformation of Krušné hory mountains since 1990

Abstract:

Krušné hory, prostor s bohatou historií, dnes spojovanou nejčastěji s hornickou tradicí, byly výrazně ovlivněny zejména událostmi minulého století. Válečné konflikty, odsun původních obyvatel a hospodaření za minulého režimu změnily celkový ráz místního prostředí včetně jeho ekonomické složky. Tato práce se zabývá vývojem ekonomiky v jednotlivých obcích Krušných hor v období, které uplynulo od skončení socialistické éry v Česku. Úvodní dekáda počínající rokem 1990 je charakteristická silným vlivem transformačních procesů, které měnily centrálně plánovanou ekonomiku na tržní v rámci celého Česka. S postupem času se vliv minulého režimu a transformačních procesů zmenšoval a tak lze ekonomiku Krušných hor zkoumat nejen z prostorového, ale také z časového hlediska. Nalezneme zde lokality s narůstajícími sociálními problémy v důsledku špatné ekonomické situace a vedle nich relativně úspěšné případy těžící z místních výhod. Cílem této práce je analyzovat ekonomiky jednotlivých obcí, ale také identifikovat hlavní zaměstnavatele Krušných hor.

Abstract:

Krušné hory mountains, a place with a rich history, which is commonly connected with a mining tradition. It's a place that has been strongly affected by some events of the past century. World wars, displacement of indigenous inhabitants, and a past regime economy that changed the general character of this place, including its economic component. This thesis deals with the economic development in towns and villages in Krušné hory mountains during the several years that have passed since the end of the socialist era in the Czech Republic. The 90´s were characterized by a strong influence of transformation processes that changed a centrally-controlled economy to a market economy. Over time, the influence of the former regime and transformation processes decreased. Now we can research the economy of Krušné hory mountains spatially and temporally. We can find some localities which are connected with increasing social problems, that are caused by a poor economic situation. On the other hand, we can observe relatively successful cases which are stimulated by local benefits. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the economies in the towns and villages, but also to identify the most important employers in the region.
