The quality of work life and its impact on employee fluctuation in a selected nonprofit organization

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce se zabývá problematikou fluktuace zaměstnanců v neziskové organizaci s důrazem na období před, během a po pandemii covid-19. Úvodní část přináší přehled o problematice fluktuace a teoretický rámec, který vymezuje základní pojmy zkoumané v rámci celé práce. Autorka se zaměřuje na konkrétní neziskovou organizaci, zdůrazňuje její vývoj a charakteristiku, stejně tak motivaci pro volbu tohoto tématu. Následně jsou definovány klíčové pojmy, jako jsou: řízení lidských zdrojů, motivace, fluktuace, covid-19, pandemie organizace, nezisková organizace a zaměstnanci. Charakteristika zkoumané organizace obsahuje informace o vzniku, vývoji a struktuře zaměstnanců – počtu, délce zaměstnání, věku, pohlaví a vzdělání. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována atributům kvality pracovního života a přehledu benefitů, které organizace nabízí svým zaměstnancům. Praktická část analyzuje tři časová období: před pandemií tzn. roky 2016-2019, roky 2020-2021 (v době pandemie) a po roce 2022. Výzkum zkoumá vliv pandemie na organizaci, a s ní spojené problematiky např. opatření a jejich následky. Důraz je kladen na změny v zaměstnanecké struktuře a fluktuaci zaměstnanců. Výsledky jsou prezentovány formou výstupů z rozhovorů s klíčovými zaměstnanci. Rozhovory přinášejí kvalitativní data, která jsou komparována s publikovanými výročními zprávami organizace. Závěr shrnuje klíčové poznatky, srovnává vnímání zaměstnanců s oficiálními údaji a nabízí interpretaci výsledků.

Abstract:

This final thesis deals with the issue of employee turnover in a non-profit organization with an emphasis on the period before, during and after the covid-19 pandemic. The introductory part provides an overview of the issue of fluctuation and a theoretical framework that defines the basic terms examined within the entire work. The author focuses on a specific non-profit organization, emphasizes its development and characteristics, as well as the motivation for choosing this or that topic. Subsequently, key terms such as: human resource management, motivation, turnover, covid-19, pandemic organization, non-profit organization and employees are defined. The characteristic of the investigated organization contains information on the origin, development and structure of employees - number, length of employment, age, gender and education. Special attention is paid to the attributes of the quality of working life and the overview of benefits that the organization offers to its employees. The practical part analyzes three time periods: before the pandemic, i.e. years 2016-2019, years 2020-2021 (during the pandemic) and after 2022. Their search examines mat or the pandemic on the organization and related issues, such as measures and their consequences. Emphasis is placed on changes in the employment structure and employee turnover. The results are presented in the form of outputs from interviews with key employees. The interviews yield qualitative data that is compared with the organization’s. The conclusion summarizes key findings, compares employee perceptions with official data, and offers an interpresentation of the results.
