Comparison of sport and culture. Economic, social and artistic criteria of comparability or incomparability of the two branches of human activity.

Abstract:

Práce je založena na snaze rozvést možnosti srovnatelnosti kultury a profesionálního sportu. Jako příklad zde posloužily konkrétní instituce ve městě Brně. Z kulturní sféry to jsou Národní divadlo Brno, Městské divadlo Brno a Filharmonie Brno a ze sféry profesionálního sportu fotbalový klub FC Zbrojovka Brno a hokejový klub HC Kometa Brno. Jako relevantní aspekty jsou zde zmíněny historické souvislosti, zařazení do oddílů veřejné ekonomie, celkové aspekty možnosti financování ze státních zdrojů, celková návštěvnost a rozpočty institucí. Je zde také rozvedena diskuze o potenciálních ekonomických dopadech, v případě investicí do nové kulturní a sportovní infrastruktury.

Abstract:

The work is based on the effort of discussion about the possibility of comparability of culture professional sports. As an example, here were used in a particular institution city of Brno. Among the cultural sphere are the National Theatre Brno, Brno City Theatre and Brno Philharmonic and the realm of professional sports football club FC Zbrojovka Brno and ice hockey club HC Kometa Brno. As relevant aspects are mentioned historical context and the classification to sections of Public Economics, overall aspects of financing options from state sources, the total number of visitors and budgets of institutions. There is also elaborated discussion of the potential economic impacts, in the case of investment in new cultural and sports infrastructure.
