The Implementation of Competencies of a Social Pedagogue with Focus on the Prevention of Social-Pathological Phenomena in the Free Time Sphere

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the practice of a social pedagogue in different institutions dedicated to the free time sphere. To be more exact, the thesis is focused on the competencies of a social pedagogue which he uses to prevent the social-pathological phenomena in the free time – i.e. in practice. We are trying to find competencies which are the most effective for the prevention of this phenomena in the selected organizations such as free time centres, youth drop-in centres, citizens associations, but also dance studios. As complementary institutions after school clubs and reeducation centres have been selected. The thesis is divided into three main theoretical chapters in which we are focused on social education, competencies of a social pedagogue and the use of a social pedagogue in practice. Furthermore the thesis is dedicated to the issue of social-pathological phenomena and the prevention of it, as well as to the use of free time. In the empirical part – the 4th chapter – the thesis provides results of a survey which we have gained on the basis of a questionnaire given to the respondents.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá praxou sociálneho pedagóga v rôznych inštitúciách venujúcich sa oblasti voľno – časovej sféry. Presnejšie v práci ide o kompetencie sociálneho pedagóga, ktoré využíva pri prevencii sociálno-patologických javov vo voľnom čase – teda v praxi. Snažíme sa nájsť kompetencie, ktoré sú najefektívnejšie pri prevencii týchto javov vo vybraných organizáciách ako sú centrá voľného času, nízkoprahové centrá, občianske združenia ale aj tanečné štúdiá. Ako doplnkové inštitúcie sú zvolené školské družiny a reedukačné centrá. Práca je rozčlenená do troch hlavných teoretických kapitol, v ktorých sa zaoberáme sociálnou pedagogikou, kompetenciami sociálneho pedagóga a uplatnením sociálneho pedagóga v praxi. Ďalej sa práca zaoberá problémom sociálno-patologických javov a prevencie, ako aj využitím voľného času. V empirickej časti, štvrtej kapitole, práca predkladá výsledky výskumu, ktoré sme dostali na základe predloženého dotazníka respondentom.
