Systematic dietary advice in cancer patients with malnutrition risk

Abstract:

Diplomová práce shrnuje problematiku výživy a podvýživy u onkologických pacientů, od jejího rozvoje až po nutriční podporu, kterou lze pacientům poskytnout. Důraz je kladen na systematickou péči o onkologické pacienty, jejímž smyslem je dlouhodobě sledovat nutriční stav pacientů, podávat vhodné dietní rady a případnou nutriční podporu tak, aby byla rizika dalšího rozvoje malnutrice co nejvíce snížena. Praktická část práce se zabývá zjišťováním, jaký vliv na stav pacientů navštěvování nutriční poradny má, jak se mění výživové chování pacientů a nakolik se daří zastavit hubnutí, případně váhu zvyšovat.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the problems of nutrition and malnutrition in cancer patients from its development to nutritional support which patients can be provided with. The emphasis is placed on the systematic cancer patients care with its purpose of long-term observation of nutritional state of patients and giving appropriate dietary advice and relevant nutritional support in a way that risks of further development of malnutrition are reduced as much as possible. The practical part deals with the identification of the effect that attending a nutrition consultancy has on patients` state. This part also focuses on changes in nutritional behaviour of patients and it finds out to what extent weight loss can be stopped and how to possibly increase the weight.
