Impact of patient age on treatment outcomes of primary and secondary liver tumors

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na zjištění možného vlivu věku pacienta na operační, pooperační a dlouhodobé výsledky chirurgické léčby nádorů jater. Teoretická část zahrnuje šest kapitol, jež se věnují primárním a sekundárním tumorům jater. První dvě kapitoly nás stručně seznamují s anatomií a fyziologií. Následné kapitoly popisují diagnostiku nádorů a chirurgii jater, především nové metody chirurgické léčby těchto novotvarů. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá prevencí. V praktické části jsou statisticky analyzovány sledované ukazatele chirurgické léčby. Mezi pacienty skupiny A (věk < 70 let) a B (věk ? 70 let) jsou srovnávány tyto parametry: krevní ztráty, délka operace, délka hospitalizace, délka hospitalizace na JIP, užití transfuze, výskyt komplikací a 30 denní mortalita. V rámci dlouhodobých výsledků byla provedena mezi sledovanými skupinami analýza 5 letého přežití a 5 letého období bez nemoci. Cílem práce je zjistit a statisticky vyhodnotit rozdíly ve sledovaných skupinách parametrů chirurgické léčby mezi pacienty skupiny A (věk < 70 let) a pacienty skupiny B (věk ? 70 let).

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on possible impact of the patient's age at operation, postoperative, and long-term results of surgical treatment of liver tumors. The theoretical part includes six chapters devoted to primary and secondary liver tumors. The first two chapters us briefly acquainted with the anatomy and physiology. The subsequent chapters describe the diagnosis of tumors and liver surgery, especially new methods of surgical treatment of such tumors. Last theoretical chapter deals with the prevention. In the practical part are statistically analyzed monitored indicators of surgical treatment. Among patients Group A (age < 70 years) and B (age ? 70 years) are compared parameters: blood loss, duration of surgery, length of hospital stay, length of hospitalization in the ICU, use of transfusions, incidence of complications and 30-day mortality. Within the long-term results was carried out between the groups analysis of 5-year survival and 5-year disease-free period. The aim of diploma thesis is identify and verify the statistical differences in observed groups of indicators of surgical treatment among patients in Group A (age < 70 years) and group B patients (age ? 70 years).
