Tourism sector in the Czech republic in the European context

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je Odvětví cestovního ruchu v České republice v kontextu Evropy. Práce se konkrétně zaměřuje na zahraniční cestovní ruch hlavních měst Visegrádské čtyřky, tedy Prahy, Budapešti, Varšavy a Bratislavy, v období od roku 2015 do roku 2018. Cílem práce je na základě zahraničního cestovního ruchu daných metropolí zjistit, proč je nejvíce navštěvovaná Praha. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení cestovního ruchu a definuje jeho základní složky, formy a druhy. Druhá kapitola teoretické části se zmiňuje o historii cestovního ruchu a předpokládaném vývoji. Analytická část nejprve charakterizuje státy a metropole Visegrádské čtyřky a následně analyzuje návštěvnost metropolí. Uvádí několik statistik jako počet turistů, zemi původu a průměrný počet nocí strávený v daném hlavním městě. Další kapitola se zabývá sektory cestovního ruchu, konkrétně sektorem atrakce, dopravy, ubytovacích služeb a stravovacích služeb. Následně je vyhodnocen dotazník, který se dotazoval respondentů, proč si zvolili danou metropoli za cíl své cesty, a na jejich celkovou spokojenost s destinací. Získaná data jsou zpracována ve formě grafů. V závěrečné části práce jsou shrnuty návrhy pro eventuální zlepšení cestovního ruchu v Praze. Na základě dostupných informací, získaných dat a statistik byla analyzována návštěvnost metropolí Visegrádské čtyřky a bylo zjištěno, že Praha je nejvíce navštěvovanou metropolí díky bohatým historickým a kulturním památkám, letecké dostupnosti a silniční síti, která je dobře propojená zejména s Německem. Důležitou roli rovněž hraje popularita metropole.

Abstract:

Theme of the bachelor´s dissertation is Tourism sector in the Czech Republic in the European context. The thesis namely focuses on foreign tourism of capitals of the Visegrad Four, Prague, Budapest, Warsaw and Bratislava, in the period from 2015 to 2018. The aim of the thesis is to ascertain based on the foreign tourism why Prague is the most visited. The first part of the dissertation deals with the theoretical definition of tourism and defines its basic components, forms and types. The second chapter of the theoretical part mentions the history of tourism and expected development. Analytical part firstly describes the states and capitals of the Visegrad Four and then analyzes the attendance of capitals. It lists several statistics such as the number of tourists, the country of origin and the average number of nights spent in the given capital. The next chapter addresses the tourism sectors, namely the sector of attraction, transport, accommodation and catering services. Subsequently, a questionnaire is evaluated which asked respondents why they chose the stated capital as their destination and their overall satisfaction with it. The obtained data are processed in the form of graphs. The final part of the thesis summarizes suggestions for potential improvement of tourism in Prague. On the basis of available information, obtained data and statistics, the visit rate of the Visegrad four capitals was analyzed and Prague was found to be the most visited capital due to to its rich historical and cultural heritage, aviation accessibility and road network, which is well connected especially with Germany. The popularity of the capital also plays an important role.
