Emigrace mladých lidí z jihovýchodní Evropy: důvody a motivace

Abstract:

Emigrace mladých lidí je důležitým tématem ve většině zemí jihovýchodní Evropy (SEE). Tato práce díky jedinečnému vzorku 10 000 respondentů z 10 zemí SEE sestavuje 8 faktorů aspirací, motivací a hodnot, abychom lépe pochopili, proč mladí lidé odcházejí. Tyto faktory poté práce pomocí shlukové analýzy seskupuje a zjišťuje, zda se lidé v nich liší ve svých migračních záměrech. Výsledkem jsou 4 klastry, které dohromady pokrývají 62 % mladé populace z regionu, která oproti celkovému průměru vykazuje významný rozdíl ve svém záměru emigrovat.

Abstract:

The emigration of young people is an important topic in most of the South European (SEE) countries. To help understand why young people are leaving, I construct eight factors of aspirations, motivations, and values of a unique representative sample of 10 000 respondents from 10 SEE countries. Then I use the cluster analysis to group them and see if they differ in their migration intentions. I am able to differentiate 4 clusters which together have 68 % of the youth population from the region, which show a significant difference to the mean in their intention to migrate.
