The Speaking Performance Quality of Political Party Leaders during Pre-Election Debates

Abstract:

V této práci se věnuji mluvenému projevu, především politickému. Na začátek zmiňuji významné osoby a také zásadní body ve vývoji rétoriky. Následuje stručné představení psychologie komunikace a konečně se dostávám k veřejně mluveným projevům. Nejrozsáhlejší část své práce věnuji již zmíněnému projevu politickému, který rozebírám na konkrétních příkladech v praktické části své práce. Konkrétně se jedná o mluvené projevy lídrů politických stran v předvolebních debatách r. 2021. Zaměřuji se na specifické prostředky mluvených projevů, ale také na optickou i zvukovou stránku projevů obecně. Pro zajímavost ve své práci poukazuji také na útočné prostředky v komunikaci, které se velmi často objevují právě v agitačních projevech, tedy i v mé praktické části. Cílem mé práce je zjistit, jaké verbální či neverbální prostředky užívají lídři politických stran ve svůj prospěch a jaké prostředky naopak mohou negativně ovlivňovat politika v očích diváka.

Abstract:

In this thesis I focus on speech, primarily political speech. At the beginning, I mention the key persons and milestones in the development of rhetoric. The following chapter is a brief introduction to the psychology of communication and then, I am getting to public speaking. I dedicate the most extensive part of my thesis to previously mentioned political speech, which is further analyzed on real-life examples in the practical part of my thesis. The examples are specifically the speeches of the leaders of political parties from pre-election debates in 2021. I focus on specific means of spoken language, and also on the optical and sound aspects of speeches in general. For the sake of interest, in my thesis I also point out the offensive means in communication, which very often appear in political agitational speeches, therefore they also appear in the practical part of my thesis. The aim of my thesis is to find out which verbal or non-verbal means the political party leaders use in their favor and what means, on the contrary, can negatively influence the audiences´ opinion on the politician.
