The Implementation effectivity rate of ethical code in Insurance industry in The Czech Republic

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou etiky a etického kodexu v pojišťovacím oboru v ČR, jejímž cílem je objasnění implementace tohoto kodexu a efektivita jeho využívání v praxi. Dosažení cíle doprovázelo zpracovaní literární rešerše a výzkumná část skládající se ze tří metod. Z kvantitativního šetření, které se vztahovalo na členské pojišťovny České asociace pojišťoven a na pojišťovací zprostředkovatele, členy České asociace společností finančního poradenství a zprostředkování. Dále z kvalitativního průzkumu, jehož se zúčastnili pracovníci z oboru, kteří zastávají vyšší pracovní pozice a třetí metoda tvořila komparaci etických kodexů, již zmíněných asociací. Výsledky ukazují neuspokojivou úroveň implementace etického kodexu v pojišťovnictví a jeho nedostatečnou efektivitu v rámci jednotlivých společností. V práci byla navržena patřičná opatření, která by tento problém mohla do budoucna pozitivně ovlivnit.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the ethics and ethical code in the insurance industry in the Czech Republic, which aim is to clarify the implementation of this code and the effectiveness of its use in practice. The achievement of the objective was accompanied by the elaboration of a literature search and a research part consisting of three methods. From the quantitative survey that applied to member insurance companies of the Czech Insurance Association and to insurance intermediaries, members of the Czech Association of Financial Advisory and Mediation Companies. In addition, a qualitative survey was filled in by workers from the field who hold higher positions and the third method was a comparison of ethical codes of the aforementioned associations. The results show an unsatisfactory level of implementation of the ethical code in Insurance industry and its lack of efficiency within individual companies. The thesis proposes appropriate measures that could positively influence this problem in the future.
