The application of motor imagery for post-stroke neglect recovery: case report.

Abstract:

Recent studies put their attention on the possibility to use the method of the movement of the image like an instrument for rehability of the patient that suffers of neglect. This pathology shows a lot of differences that makes it more difficult for the patient to recover completely and for this reason the methods always continue to develop to approach this deficit to help the subject to reach the best condition after the sickness. Our work that is based on progression of exercises of mobility and stretching stronger by commands used for the movement of the image, on exercises of proprioception and of thermal sensitivity. The most important thing of this approach was the attention about the recover of the normal daily activities, conditions with deficit in subjects that are affected by neglect and that difficulty regain completely. Our goal was to try to rehability the patient for reconquer a minimum autonomy.

Abstract:

Studi recenti hanno posto la loro attenzione sulla possibilitŕ di utilizzo del metodo dell?immagine motoria come strumento per la riabilitazione del paziente affetto da neglect. Questa patologia presenta numerose sfaccettature che rendono difficoltoso il pieno recupero del paziente ed č per questo che sono sempre in continua evoluzione i metodi di approccio a tale deficit per poter aiutare il soggetto a raggiungere il miglior stato di forma possibile in seguito alla malattia. Il nostro lavoro si č basato, appunto, su una progressione di esercizi di mobilizzazione e stretching rafforzati da comandi utilizzati per l?immagine motoria, su esercizi di propriocezione e di sensibilitŕ termica. La parte piů importante di questo approccio č stata quella rivolta al recupero delle attivitŕ della vita quotidiana, condizioni deficitarie nei soggetti affetti da neglect e che difficilmente riacquistano a pieno. Nostro obiettivo č stato quello di provare a riabilitare la paziente in modo tale da riconquistare un?autonomia minima.
