Ideal teacher in the sight of Primary school pupils and teachers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Ideální učitel z pohledu žáků a pedagogů ZŠ“ pojednává o osobnosti učitele a jeho ideální podobě. Autorka zasadila význam role a určitých charakteristik pedagoga do kontextu jeho hodnocení. Na základě odborné literatury vymezuje současné požadavky na jeho činnost i na jeho osobnost, tj. vlastnosti, dovednosti, temperament a motivaci. Následně práce předkládá i některá zjištění z ostatních výzkumů, které se zabývaly zjišťováním konotací pojmu „ideální učitel“. V empirické části jsou předložena a zpracována data z kvantitativního výzkumu provedeného metodou sémantického diferenciálu. Na základě faktorové analýzy zjišťuje autorka sémantické rozdíly mezi vnímáním pojmu „ideální učitel“ u tří skupin respondentů (žáků I. a II. stupně a jejich vyučujících) z jedné základní školy, s cílem zjistit, jaké vlastnosti upřednostňují. Pomocí statistické analýzy dat jsou rozkryty některé vztahy mezi hodnocením na škále sémantického diferenciálu s věkem a pohlavím respondentů. Práce je završena předložením námětů k seberozvoji učitele a možných řešení ke zdokonalení jeho přípravy.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis “Ideal teacher in the sight of Primary school pupils and teachers” deals with the topic of the teacher’s personality and his ideal image. The author contextualizes the importance of the teacher’s role and his characteristics in the context of his assessment. The work investigates the teacher’s role in both, the society and learning process. There are, on the base of bibliography, defined essential skills and current requirements on his or her employment and personality characteristics. Following work compiles some of the results of research study that covers the topic „ideal teacher”. The second, practical part presents and summarizes data from the quantitative questionnaire exploration constructed with the method of rating scales - semantic differential. The author examines semantic differences in the perception of “the ideal teacher” on the basis of factor analysis at three kinds of respondents – pupils of the first and second stage and their teachers. Primary school teachers and pupils were addressed with the aim to discover what the ideal teacher is like and how they value his or her particular characteristics. With the help of statistics methods there are resolved some relationships within the respondents’ evaluation, their age and gender. The last but not least, a little recommendation is offered for the possible improvement for those who are willing to make progress in this field.
