Galizona in the context of Central Europe since the late 16th century up to the early 19th century

Abstract:

Galizona je barokní strunný drnkací nástroj loutnové rodiny středoevropské provenience; konkrétně českomoravského původu. Tato práce se pokouší o shrnutí dosavad-ních poznatků a relevantních či přidružených témat, a představuje tak kulturní pozadí nástroje a kontext, v jehož rámci jsme se mohli s nástrojem setkat. Krom jiného práce také obsahuje pokus o plošnou katalogizaci dodnes dochovaných galizon, tento výstup je k nalezení v přílohách práce.

Abstract:

The galizona is a baroque plucked instrument of the lute family coming from the Central European provenance; to be specific: Bohemia and Moravia. This thesis attempts to summarize existing knowledge and expands its focus on relevant or associated topics, thus introducing the cultural background of the instrument and the context, in which we could encounter the instrument. Besides this the thesis also contains an attempt to catalogue all galizonas that were preserved until this time, this catalogue to be found amongst attachments of this thesis.
