Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Language of Tabloid Top Stories: Discourse Analysis“ zkoumá jazyk bulvárního tisku především z lingvistického hlediska. Teoretická část uvádí do zkoumané problematiky a je základem pro část praktickou. Náplní praktické části je analýza úvodních článků anglického deníku The Sun a českého deníku Šíp podle různých lingvistických úrovní a srovnání těchto dvou bulvárních novin. Pro praktickou analýzu jsou použity elektronické verze deníků, které jsou k práci přiloženy v tištěné podobě.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis ‘Language of Tabloid Top Stories: Discourse Analysis’ deals with language of the popular press from linguistic point of view. Theoretical part explains chief terms and thus forms a basis for the practical part. The aim of the practical part is discourse analysis of top stories of an English tabloid The Sun and Czech tabloid Šíp according to proposed levels. Moreover, these two dailies are compared. Electronic versions, which are enclosed as appendices in their printed form, are used for the analysis.
