Abstract:

Diplomová práce "Informační politika USA a zemí Evropské unie ve vztahu k mezinárodně politickému konfliktu v Afghánistánu a v Iráku v letech 2001-2005" se věnuje problematice informační politiky prováděné Spojenými státy a vybranými zeměmi Evropské unie v souvislosti s tzv. válkou proti terorizmu. Nejprve definuje informační politiku prováděnou v tomto kontextu a představuje nám její obsah. Poté dává prostor historicko-politickým souvislostem konfliktu, které poskytují potřebný kontext, v němž je třeba informační politiku vidět. Byli to pevážně představitelé Spojených států amerických, kdo se vyjadřoval v tom smyslu, že válku proti terorizmu je třeba vést také na poli informací, přičemž ovládnutí informačního terénu je v tomto kontextu velice důležité. Tato práce si tak dává za cíl nahlédnout hlavní specifika americké informační politiky spojené s tímto konfliktem. To může být přínosné pro lepší orientaci v současné situaci týkající se jak tzv. války proti terorizmu, tak konkrétně situace v Afghánistánu a Iráku. Práce se kromě toho pokouší nahlédnout také informační politiku vybraných zemí Evropské unie, které se v tomto konfliktu významněji angažovaly. V případech, kdy je to možné, je dán prostor také srovnání informací poskytovaných veřejnosti vládami a informací pocházejících z nevládních zdrojů; práce se též dotýká srovnání informační politiky evropských států a USA.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis "Information Policy of the USA and the EU Countries in Relation to the International Political Conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001-2005" deals with questions about information policy pursued by the United States and selected EU countries in relation to the so-called war on terror. At first, the information policy that is pursued in this context is defined and its subject is presented. After that, some space space is given to the historical-political connections of the conflict to provide the reader with important context the information policy is neccessary to be seen in. It was mainly the U.S. representatives who stated the war on terror is also to be waged in terms of information and that occupying the information terrain is crucial in this context. Thus, this thesis is aimed at providing the view of the main aspects of American information policy that was pursued during this conflict. This could help us in orientation not only in the current situation of the war on terror in its overall but also of the situation in Afghanistan and Iraq. This thesis also deals with information policy of the EU countries that has been significantly engaged in the war. A comparsion of the information coming from the government and non-government sources is provided when possible; some space is also given to the comparsion of the information policy of the EU and the US.
