Regeneration growth after clearing and its microclimate variables

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit výskyt a odrůstání přirozené i umělé obnovy na kalamitních holinách s ohledem na mikroklima jejích částí. Bylo hodnoceno prostředí holiny, prostředí ponechaných výstavků a prostředí proředěného porostu nebo porostní stěny. Bylo zvoleno 6 sérií transektů. Prvních pět sérií obsahovalo 3 varianty transektů, na holině, u výstavků a u porostní stěny. Šestá série obsahovala 3 transekty v porostu inertních smrkových souší. Každý transekt obsahovat 7-9 sub-plošek. U každé takové plošky byl změřen přísun světla metodou analýzy hemisférické fotografie. V souvislosti se zářením byl evidován výskyt obnovy a dřevina přirozené obnovy. Kromě výskytu přirozené obnovy byl zaznamenáván její zdravotní stav a přírůst posledních dvou let. Dále byly vyhodnocovány přírůsty a zdravotní stav u umělé obnovy dubu zimního. Byl zjištěn výrazný pozitivní vliv jak zbytků porostu a porostních okrajů, tak ponechaných výstavkových jedinců na výskyt a odrůstání přirozené i umělé obnovy. Prostředí holin vykazovalo malý úspěch obnovy s nízkým výskytem a nejvyšší mortalitou. V prostředí smrkových souší byl výskyt přirozené obnovy minimální. Celkově měl výskyt přirozené obnovy klesající tendenci s rostoucím ozářením plochy. S blížícím se zářením světelného požitku volné plochy klesal výskyt přirozené obnovy jedle a buku, stoupal u smrku a modřínu. Další slunné dřeviny jako borovice a dub se kupodivu nezmlazovaly nejvíce při nejvyšších ozářenostech plochy. Buřeň byla nejvíce produkční na holině. Jako významný limit odrůstání obnovy se projevovaly škody zvěří.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to evaluate the occurrence and growth of natural and artificial regeneration on calamity clearings with regard to the microclimate of its parts. The environment of the clearing, the environment of the seed trees and the environment of the thinned stand or the stand edge were evaluated. Six series of transects were chosen. The first five series contained three variants of transects, on the clearing, at the seed trees and at the forest edge. The sixth series contained three transects in the stand of inert spruce dead forests. Each transect contains 7-9 sub-plots. For each sub-plot, the light irradiance was quantified using the method of hemispherical photography analysis. In connection with radiation, the occurrence of a tree species of natural regeneration was recorded. In addition to the occurrence of natural regeneration, its health status and the tree height increment of the last two years have been recorded. Furthermore, the growth and health status of artificial regeneration of sessile oak were evaluated. A significant positive effect of both the remains of the stand and stand edges, as well as the remaining seed trees, on the occurrence and growth of natural and artificial regeneration was found. The clearing environment showed the least success of regeneration with the lowest occurrence and the highest mortality. In the environment of spruce dead stand, the occurrence of natural regeneration was totally minimal. Overall, the occurrence of natural regeneration had a decreasing tendency with full irradiation of the area. As the light irradiance of the open area increased, the occurrence of natural regeneration decreased for fir and beech, and increased for spruce and larch. Other sun-loving tree species such as pine and oak surprisingly did not regenerate preferentially at the highest irradiances areas. Forest weed was the most productive in the open area of clear-cut. Damage from game was a serious limit for regeneration.
