Role of The Committee of the Regions in the structure of authorities of the European Union

Abstract:

Main goal of the bachelor thesis is to analyse what role plays the Committee of the Regions among other authorities of the European Union and recognize its up-to-date contribution for local units it represents. Work is divided in two parts. The first part is dedicated to what preceded establishing CoR and describe its journey since then in short. The second part focuses on where is it now, what its inner structure looks like with emphasis on its personal composition and on the represetatives of Czech Republic and study wide range of initiatives CoR is developing to help regional and local authorities.

Abstract:

Predmetom bakalárskej práce je analyzovať, aké postavenie zastáva Výbor regiónov medzi ostatnými orgánmi EÚ a zistiť, aký je jeho dnešný reálny prínos pre lokálne celky, ktoré zastupuje. Práca je rozdelená na dve časti, kde v prvej sa venujem tomu, čo predchádzalo vytvoreniu výboru a v krátkosti popisujem cestu, ktorú odvtedy prekonal. Druhá časť sa zameriava na to, kde je teraz, aká je jeho vnútorná štruktúra s dôrazom na personálne zloženie a na predstaviteľov Českej republiky a skúma široký rámec iniciatív, ktoré v súčasnosti výbor vyvíja pre pomoc regionálnym a miestnym orgánom.
