Effective Therapeutic Factors in Individual Therapy from the Perspective of the Client and the Therapist

Abstract:

V této magisterské práci zkoumáme účinné terapeutické faktory z pohledu klienta a terapeuta. Zajímá nás jako faktory vnímají jako účinné klienti a jaké terapeuti u schizoafektivní poruchy a bipolárně afektivní poruchy. A dále jaké faktory jim v terapii připadají zbytečné a jaké by naopak potřebovali. Pro výzkum jsme zvolili kvalitativní design a data sbíráme za pomoc polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a doplnění za pomoci dotazníku vlastní konstrukce s otevřenými otázkami. Výzkumu se účastnilo deset klientů, kteří všichni měli diagnostikovanou poruchu F25 nebo F31 a dva terapeuti. Data byla analyzována a interpretována metodou vícenásobné případové studie. Z našich analyzovaných dat jsme zjistili, že hlavní účinné faktory dle klientů jsou sdílení a podpora/povzbuzení. Mezi další faktory patří např. společné hledání řešení, bezpečí a přijetí. Z pohledu terapeutů se jako hlavní účinné faktory projevily konkrétní řešení problémů, podpora/povzbuzení, organizace a zvědomování. V terapii klientům nepřipadalo zbytečné nic a ani nic nepotřebovali, někteří jen více času. Dle terapeutů jsou v terapii zbytečné faktory tlaku na výkon, techniky dechu a relaxace a přílišné vyhovování klientovým požadavkům a jako potřebné uvedli faktory zvýšení sebevědomí a více času.

Abstract:

In this master's thesis we explore effective therapeutic factors from the perspective of the client and the therapist. We are interested in what factors are perceived as effective by clients and by therapists in schizoaffective disorder and bipolar affective disorder. Furthermore, what factors do they find unnecessary in therapy and what factors they would need. We have chosen a qualitative design for the research and collected data using a semi-structured interview and supplementing it with a self-constructed questionnaire with open-ended questions. Ten clients, all diagnosed with F25 or F31 disorder, and two therapists participated in the research. Data were analysed and interpreted using a multiple case study method. From our analysed data we found that the main effective factors according to the clients were sharing and support/encouragement. Other factors include joint solution finding, safety and acceptance. From the perspective of the therapists, concrete problem solving, support/reinforcement, organization and awareness emerged as the main effective factors. In therapy, clients did not find anything unnecessary and did not need anything, some just needed more time. According to therapists, the factors of pressure to perform, breathing and relaxation techniques, and too much compliance with client demands were unnecessary in therapy, and they cited the factors of increased self-awareness and more time as necessary.
