Miltucultural education towards tolerance and against racism

Abstract:

V první teoretické části se práce věnuje pojmům souvisejícím s multikulturní výchovou, kromě charakteristiky samotného označení multikulturní a interkulturní, se zabývá cíly multikulturního vzdělávání, kompetencemi, dovednostmi, schopnostmi a postoji účastníků multikulturního dialogu. Práce dále představuje jednotlivé etapy procesu MKV a metody MKV, mezi které patří např. diskuse, metoda brainstormingu, skupinové vyučování nebo dramatizace. Praktická část je uvedena dotazníkem, ve kterém se 98 respondentů středních škol vyjadřuje k základním otázkám MKV, vysvětluje základní pojmy, osobní zkušenosti s MKV, vnímání jednotlivých aspektů v reálném životě atd. Vyhodnocení dotazníku ukázalo, že povědomí a teoretické znalosti současných středoškoláků jsou na poměrně nízké úrovni, i když znalosti respondentů z řad studentů gymnázia byly většinou lepší než u maturantů ze střední odborné školy. V další části práce jsou uvedeny nejčastěji diskutovaná a zmiňovaná témata MKV, souhrn základních informací určených nejen pro pedagogy a studenty. K tématům Romové, uprchlíci a migranti, Židé a Vietnamci jsou doplněny návrhy projektového vyučování pro studenty nejen středních škol, které vycházejí z uvedených metod multikulturního vzdělávání (skupinová práce, dramatizace apod.). Přílohy nabízejí texty, které jsou určeny pro projektové vyučování, jsou využity ukázky z novin, televizních pořadů nebo výpovědi osob, které doplňují obraz rasových menšin.

Abstract:

The first, theoretical part of the thesis, deals with constructs concerning multicultural education. Except for the characteristics of the foreign term multicultural and intercultural, it deals with aims of multicultural education, competences, skills, abilities and attitudes of participants of a multicultural dialogue. The thesis also introduces separate parts of an MCE process and MCE methods where also discussion, brainstorming, group education and dramatization belong. The practical part is introduced with a questionnaire where 98 percent of respondents express their opinion on MCE questions, explain the main terms, personal experience with MCE and perception of separate aspects in the real life etc. Evaluation of the questionnaire has revealed the fact that the awareness and theoretical knowledge of contemporary secondary school students are on quite a low level, whereas knowledge of grammar school respondents was mostly better than knowledge of vocational school graduates. In the following parts of the work there are introduced the most frequently mentioned topics of MCE, summary of elementary information intended not only for educators and students. Topics concerning Romanies, refugees and migrants, Jews and the Vietnamese are complemented with suggestions of project instruction not only for students of secondary schools summing up the described methods of multicultural education (group work, dramatization etc.). Attachment offers texts intended for project instruction. Samples of news, TV programs and personal testimonials supplementing the portrayal of race minorities are used.
