Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá postojem vybraných levicových politických stran k válce v Iráku. Předmětem zkoumání jsou evropské levicové strany, které projevily v období před vypuknutím války v Iráku rozdílné názory na možnost zapojení se do války po boku USA. Ambicí práce je prozkoumání argumentů, které vedly lídry těchto stran k rozhodnutím, zda se do války zapojit, či nikoliv. Základní metodou práce je analýza vybraných výroků čelních představitelů těchto stran v období před válkou v Iráku (podzim 2002 a jaro 2003).

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the attitudes of the socialist political parties to the war in Iraq. The object of the research represent european socialist and labour parties, which expressed before the begging of the war in Iraq different positions to the possibilities in the case of engagement in the war side by side with the USA. The main ambition ot the thesis consists of the exploration of the arguments, which were used by the political leaders in the case of engagement in the war. As a main method of the thesis was used the analysis of the chosen statements of the political leaders during the period before the war in Iraq (autumn 2002 a spring 2003).
