Gold and Mining Companies

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce na téma „Zlato a těžařské společnosti“ má za cíl identifikovat hlavní faktory, jež můžou vést k budoucímu růstu nejen ceny zlata, ale i akcií jeho producentů – těžařských společností. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V první kapitole se klade důraz na zlato zejména z investičního pohledu. Nastíněna je však i jeho historie a široké využití. Druhá kapitola podává komplexní obraz o těžařských společnostech, které tvoří převážnou součást nabídky zlata, tudíž mají značný vliv na tento žlutý kov. V obou zmíněných kapitolách bude zároveň pojednáno o pestrých možnostech investice do těchto aktiv. Poslední část práce se nejprve jednotlivě zaměřuje na analýzu vývoje ceny zlata a těžařských společností (znázorněno na těžařském indexu HUI) od počátku nového tisíciletí, resp. počátku samotného indexu. Poté jsou podrobně analyzovány hlavní příčiny potenciálního růstu jak ceny zlata, tak samotných akcií těžařů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis called “Gold and Mining Companies” aims to identify the main reasons that may lead to future growth not only of the gold price, but also of the gold mining stocks. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is mainly focused on gold from investment perspective. Nevertheless, the history and usage of gold is mentioned as well. The second part offers the complex sight on mining companies that create predominant part of gold supply, thus having considerable influence on this yellow metal. As well as, in both parts will be mentioned various possibilities of investing in these assets. Last part is firstly focused on analysis of gold price development and mining shares (showing on HUI mining index) since new millennium began or (as for HUI index) since the beginning of the measuring the index. Consequently, the main factors of potential growth are analysed in detail. This involves both price of gold and mining shares.
