The particularity of selection procedure of job vacancies in tourism businesses

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jak postupují konkrétní podniky cestovního ruchu při výběru zaměstnance na pozici event koordinátora. Práce je zaměřena především na aplikované metody a kvalitu celého procesu, a to jak hotelového, tak nehotelového prostředí. Teoretická část proto definuje jednotlivé kroky obsazování pracovního místa, a to od získávání až po adaptaci zaměstnance. Zároveň jsou představeny nejvyužívanější metody předvýběru a výběru. Praktická část je založena na rozhovorech s personalisty daných podniků a výsledky rozhovorů jsou poté analyzovány společně s inzeráty na pozici event koordinátora. Ze získaných dat je provedena komparace zkoumaných subjektů, a to jak inzerátů, tak výběrových řízení. Následně je provedeno vyhodnocení a na základě nedostatků, ke kterým autorka dospěla, jsou navržena doporučení. Výsledky práce poukazují na to, že nehotelové prostředí aplikuje propracovanější postupy personalistické práce, zejména pokud jde o výběrové metody.

Abstract:

The aim of this master’s thesis is to discover the procedures of tourism businesses during the selection procedure for an event coordinator position. The main focus is on applied methods and the process quality in the hospitality and non-hospitality businesses. Therefore, the theoretical piece defines the individual steps of the recruitment and selection process up to the adoptation of a new employee within the workplace. Alongside it introduces the most common methods of the pre-selection and selection process. The practical piece contains interviews with recruitment specialists of particular businesses. The data is further analysed alongside individual job advertisements for the event coordinator position. The following part contains a comparison which is carried out from the data collected from online job advertisings and recruitment processes. The evaluation is based on the weaknesses which the author of the master’s thesis had discovered. Recommendations are given based on this evaluation. The findings of the thesis show that non-hospitality businesses create more in-depth and detailed recruitment processes, especially related to the selection processes.
