Southern families in the work of William Faulkner and Erskine Caldwell
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis examines the literary work of two southern coeval authors, William Faulkner and Erskine Caldwell. A particular attention is paid to the analysis of the two selected novels, Falkner?s As I Lay Dying and Caldwell?s Tobacco Road. Předmětem této bakalářské práce je analýza literárního díla dvou jižanských autorů, Williama Faulknera a Erskina Caldwella. Pozornost je věnována především rozboru dvou vybraných románů, a sice Faulknerově Když jsem umírala a Caldwellově Tabákové cestě. Hlavním úkolem této práce je srovnání dvou odlišných pojetí jižanské rodiny, jelikož v obou dílech je rodina opakujícím se motivem. Práce se zaměřuje …more
