Vladimir Lensky in the concept of A. S. Pushkin and P. I. Tchaikovsky

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Vladimir Lensky in the concept of A. S. Pushkin and P. I. Tchaikovsky” deals with the character that I had the honor to study within the study at JAMU. It's an in-depth analysis of the character of Pushkin's drama Eugene Onegin and its congenial processing, eponymous opera of P. I. Tchaikovsky. Lensky, while not the most central character of both works, but it certainly is one of the main. It’s just his characteristics and his internal fulfilled world which are important for detection of internal drama of Eugene Onegin’s character. Their conflict is built right on their differences, on direct contradiction of their characters. Significantly, the valuable, emotionally stable and enormously good Vladimir Lensky, parishes by hands of superficial and internally empty Eugene Onegin because of the mutual misunderstanding of the characters. The novel and the opera Eugene Onegin hold a mirror to us. They show us who we are and what we can be like and how it might go if we give up the efforts to seek inner fulfillment and fall to primitive chase of collecting superficial experiences.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca Vladimír Lenskij v pojetí A. S. Puškina a P. I. Čajkovského pojednáva o postave, ktorú som mal česť naštudovať v rámci štúdia na JAMU. Je to hĺbkový rozbor postavy Puškinovej drámy Eugen Onegin a jej kongeniálneho spracovania, rovnomennej opery P. I. Čajkovského. Lenskij síce nie je tou najústrednejšou postavou oboch diel, ale rozhodne je jednou z hlavných. Práve jeho charakteristika a vnútorný naplnený svet sú dôležité pre odhalenie vnútornej drámy postavy Eugena Onegina. Ich konflikt je postavený práve na ich odlišnosti, na priamom protiklade ich charakterov. Je príznačné, že hodnotný a citovo stabilný, nesmierne dobrý Vladimír Lenskij, zahynie rukou povrchného a vnútorne prázdneho Eugena Onegina, kvôli vzájomnému nepochopeniu sa postáv. Román a aj opera Eugen Onegin nastavujú zrkadlo nám. Ukazujú nám akí sme a akí môžeme byť a ako to môže dopadnúť, keď sa prestaneme snažiť o vnútorné naplnenie a prepadneme primitívnej honbe za povrchným zbieraním zážitkov.
