The past and present of Academic Choir of Technical University of Ostrava

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá historií a současností Akademického pěveckého sboru Vysoké školy báňské - Technické univerzity Ostrava, konkrétně od roku 2000, kdy byl založen, do roku 2023. První a druhá kapitola práce se zaměřuje především na založení sboru, na účast tělesa na koncertech, soutěžích a festivalech a na uměleckou činnost dirigentů, kteří ve sboru nejdéle působili. Ke zmapování témat v rámci prvních dvou kapitol je použita zejména kronika sboru, archivní materiály členů tělesa a online zdroje. V prvním oddílu, který se soustředí na okolnosti založení tělesa, je využita metoda rozhovoru. Třetí kapitola se zabývá charakteristikou sboru a obsahuje čtyři oddíly, které popisují repertoár sboru, diskografii, interpretaci skladeb a reference za pomoci odborné literatury, audiozáznamů a online zdrojů. Poslední kapitola je rozdělena na dva oddíly, z nichž první konfrontuje rozezpívání sboru s obecně platnými postupy, k čemuž je použito vlastních zkušeností autorky a odborné literatury. Druhý oddíl popisuje činnost sboru jako organizace a v pododdílu se soustředí na povinnosti členů spolku a na to, jak probíhá nábor nových členů. Součástí příloh jsou archivní materiály sboru, které pomáhají dokreslit jeho činnost.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the past and present of the Academic Choir of Technical University of Ostrava, specifically from 2000, when it was founded, to 2023. The first and second chapter of the thesis focus especially on the foundation of the choir, on the participation of the ensemble in concerts, competitions and festivals, and on the artistic activities of the conductors who worked in the choir for the longest time. To map the topics in the first two chapters, the chronicle of the choir, archival materials of the members of the choir and online resources are used. In the first section, which focuses on the circumstances of the founding of the ensemble, the method of interview is used. The third chapter deals with the characteristics of the choir and contains four sections that describe the choir's repertoire, discography, interpretation of compositions and references with the help of professional literature, audio recordings and online resources. The last chapter is divided into two sections, the first of which confronts the choir's singing practice with generally valid procedures, using the author's own experience and professional literature. The second section describes the activities of the choir as an organization and in the subsection, it focuses on the duties of the members of the association and how new members are recruited. The appendices include archival materials of the choir that help to illustrate its activities.
