Humanization of life of people at moderate and severe mental retardation

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá humanizací života osob na úrovni střední a těžké mentální retardace. Skládá se z části teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část obsahuje tři kapitoly, které se zabývají stručným přehledem o problematice mentální retardace a symptomy humanizace v životě cílové skupiny této práce. Praktická část vyhodnocuje kvalitativní výzkumné šetření, ve kterém jsou použity metody polostrukturovaného a strukturovaného rozhovoru. Získaná data jsou zpracována analýzou a následnou triangulací zdrojů dat. Hlavním cílem praktické části je posouzení aktuálního stavu humanizačního procesu ve vztahu k životu osob na úrovni střední a těžké mentální retardace. Dílčí cíle zjišťují prožívání denní reality osobami s danými stupni mentální retardace a postoje osob stýkajících se s těmito lidmi. Zjištěná fakta jsou porovnávána a pátrá se v nich po souvislostech, které by mohly přinést případné náměty pro praktická opatření podporující zvyšování úrovně humanizačního procesu.

Abstract:

The presented thesis is dealing with the issues of humanization of live of people at moderate and severe mental retardation. The thesis contains both theoretical and practical aspects of the topic. The theoretical part contains three chapters dealing with a brief overview of an issue of mental retardation and symptoms of humanization in the life of the target group of this thesis. The practical part evaluates qualitative research, in which methods of semi-structured and structured interview are used. The data are processed by analysing and triangulating data sources. The main aim of this thesis is to assess the current state of humanising process in relation to the life of people at the moderate and severe mental retardation and to find out the experiencing of the daily reality by people with given degree of mental retardation and attitudes of people, which meet with these people. The achieved facts are compared and searched for connections that could bring any suggestions for practical measures to promote improvement of the humanising process level.
