Perioperative care in the flow of time

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce byla historie perioperační péče z pohledu perioperačních sester z I. chirurgické kliniky Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze od roku 1965 až po současnost. Průzkumným záměrem bylo zmapovat rozvoj perioperační péče v oblasti náplně práce perioperační sestry, vzdělání perioperačních sester, materiálně-technické vybavení operačních sálů a dále zjistit míru fyzické a psychické zátěže perioperačních sester, která je nedílnou součástí této práce. Průzkumná část byla provedena kvalitativním průzkumným šetřením, strategií případové studie a sběru dat pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s perioperačními sestrami I. chirurgické kliniky Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze. Následně byla provedena analýza rozhovorů a ucelení podaných informací vztahujících se k jednotlivým cílům. Z výsledků je patrné, že hlavní faktory, které měly vliv na práci perioperačních sester ve sledovaném období, byly postupně měněny díky novým poznatkům ve všech oblastech, které tuto činnost ovlivňují.

Abstract:

The main topic of this thesis was the history of perioperative care from the perspective of perioperative nurses from the 1st Surgical Clinic of General Traching Hospital in Prague from 1965 to the present. The research plan was to map the development of perioperative care in the field of perioperative nurse work, education of perioperative nurses, material and technical equipment of operating theaters, and to determine the degree of physical and mental stress of perioperative nurses, which is an integral part of this work. The exploratory part was carried out by qualitative exploratory survey, case study strategy and data collection using semi-structured interviews with perioperative nurses of the 1st Surgical Clinic of General Traching Hospital in Prague. Subsequently, the analysis of interviews was conducted and the information provided related to individual objectives was integrated. From the results we can see that the work of perioperative nurses gradually changed due to new knowledge in all areas that influence this activity.
