Attitude of Czech exporters on adoption of the euro

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou přijetí eura v České republice. Cílem této práce je pomocí dotazníku zmapovat postoje a názory na zavedení společné měny v ČR u majitelů a členů vyššího či středního managementu českých exportních firem. Práce začíná popisem historie ekonomické integrace a evropské měnové politiky. Na to navazuje specifikace Maastrichtských konvergenčních kritérií s důrazem na popis jejich plnění Českou republikou. Dále jsou shrnuty přínosy a náklady zavedení eura a jejich případný vliv na podnikatelské subjekty. V práci je také analyzována celková situace zahraničního obchodu ČR a provázanost české ekonomiky s ekonomikami ostatních členských zemí EU a eurozóny. V neposlední řadě byla provedena analýza odpovědí na dotazníky rozeslané českým vývozním firmám. Výsledky práce, které jsou rozebrané v závěrečné diskuzi, ukazují přístup českých vývozců ke společné evropské měně a umožňují rozšíření pohledu na tuto tématiku.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of the Czech Republic to adopt the common European currency, the euro. The main goal was to research the opinions on the adoption of euro among owners of the Czech exporting companies and their employees on the top and the middle management positions. For primary data collection, a questionnaire was used and sent to the Czech exporting companies. At the beginning of the thesis, there is a general analysis of the history of economic integration and the system of European monetary policy. This is followed by the specification of the Maastricht convergence criteria with an emphasis on the description of their fulfillment by the Czech Republic. Furthermore, benefits and costs that arise from becoming a member of the European Monetary Union are shortly described. The overall situation of the Czech external trade is presented at the end of the theoretical part. In the practical part, the answers from the questionnaires are analyzed. The outcomes that came out of the research analysis are discussed in the final part of the thesis.
