Application of selected activating learning methods in the lower grade of a bilingual secondary school on the basis of two lessons from the schoolbook "Vielfach Deutsch"

Abstract:

The topic of this diploma thesis is learning-activating methods in DaF (German as a foreign language) and DaZ (German as a second language) lessons. The research methods were conducted at a bilingual grammar school in Vienna and consist of a participatory observation, research lessons and two questionnaires, one before the first and one after the last research lesson. With the help of the participatory observation and the first survey it should be found out if the student’s are active during the lessons and in which classroom formats they work most of the time. Through the second survey the effects in terms of the student’s attention in class, their learning motivation, their memory, their creativity and their mutual cooperation were assessed. The results showed that learning-activating methods motivate the students to participate in class and they help them remember what they have learned. In addition, there was also an increase in interest in the subject matter and an increased use of creativity detectable. For teaching staff of the subject German, the practical part also offers one-to-one instructions for carrying out the learning-activating teaching units of the research lessons.

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce jsou učební aktivizační metody ve výuce německého jazyka, DaF (němčiny jako cizího jazyka) a DaZ (němčiny jako druhého jazyka). Výzkum byl proveden na biliguálním gymnáziu ve Vídni a sestává z participativního pozorování, výzkumného vyučování a dvou dotazníků, před i po aplikaci výzkumné výuky. Pomocí participativního pozorování a prvního dotazníku mělo být nejprve zjišťováno, zda jsou žáci/žákyně v hodinách aktivní, popř. jakým způsobem a v jakých organizačních formách v hodinách pracují. Na základě druhého dotazníku bylo zkoumáno působení aktivizačních metod na žáky/žákyně z hlediska pozornosti v hodinách, motivace k učení, schopnosti zapamatování si probrané látky, rozvíjení kreativity a vzájemné spolupráce. Výsledky ukázaly, že se ve výuce vedené formou aktivizačních metod, zlepšila u žáků/žákyň motivaci ke spolupráci a probrané učivo si lépe zapamatovali. Kromě toho se zvýšil zájem o učivo a ukázalo se, že žáci/žákyně mohli být v hodinách kreativnější. V praktické části jsou navíc detailně popsané výukové hodiny, jejichž základem je výuka formou aktivizačních metod. Ty mohou oslovit a inspirovat především další vyučující německého jazyka při přípravách jejich vlastních hodin.
