General awareness of the floods causes in the municipality of Šumperk

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vnímání povodňového rizika obyvateli Šumperka v Olomouckém kraji. Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, jak věk a osobní zkušenost ovlivňují ochotu přijmout a realizovat individuální protipovodňovou ochranu obyvateli města. Rešeršní část se zaměřuje na příčiny a druhy povodní, protipovodňovou ochranu a percepci fluviálního rizika. Na základě těchto informací byl sestaven dotazník. Výzkumu, který probíhal pomocí dotazníkového šetření, se zúčastnilo 150 občanů města Šumperka. Vzhledem k pandemické situaci byl založen na kombinaci elektronického a osobního dotazování. V dotazníku jsem se zaměřovala zejména na ochotu přijímat strukturální i nestrukturální opatření, a na vnímání zodpovědnosti za protipovodňovou ochranu samotnými obyvateli Šumperka. Z výsledků dotazníku je patrné, že hlavním faktorem, který ovlivňuje vnímání povodní je osobní zkušenost. Nicméně ani osobní zkušenost a ani věk nejsou faktory, které ovlivňují ochotu obyvatel přijímat jakákoliv individuální opatření, ať již nestrukturální ve formě pojištění, nebo strukturální, technická opatření. Přestože se část respondentů snaží před povodněmi individuálně chránit, nemyslí si, že jsou za ochranu před povodněmi zodpovědní oni, ale instituce, jako město Šumperk nebo Povodí Moravy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on flood risk perception by residents of Šumperk city, Olomouc region. The aim of this thesis is to find out how age and personal experience influence the willingless to recieve and implement some of the individual adaptive measures by residents of Šumperk. Research part consists of (i) causes and types of floods; (ii) flood protection and (iii) flood risk perception. All informations from the research part are used for the survey in metodic part. Due to pandemic situation I used both electronic and personal survey on sample of 150 residents of Šumperk. The results shows that main factor which influence the flood risk perception is private experience. However neither private experience and age are not the factors influencing the willingless of respondent to implement individual adaptive measures both non structural, as insurance or structural, as technical measures. Although, there is some sign that respondents are trying to implement some of the measures, they still do not think that they are responsible for flood protection. They think that the authorities, such the city of Šumperk or river Morava management are the one who are responsible for flood protection in Šumperk.
