PPV virus as a major pathogen of plum

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na Plum pox virus (PPV), což je významný patogen ovlivňující rod Prunus a představuje významnou hrozbu pro pěstitele slivoní v mnoha částech světa. Poskytne podrobný literární přehled o interakcích mezi PPV a jeho hostitelskými druhy, s důrazem na mechanismy, kterými se virus šíří a infikuje své hostitele, a na způsoby, jakými rostliny reagují na infekci. Práce také zahrnuje detailní přehled o druzích a odrůdách slivoní, které vykazují definovanou úroveň odolnosti vůči PPV, což je klíčové pro vývoj účinných strategií pro řízení šíření této choroby.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on Plum pox virus (PPV), a major pathogen affecting the genus Prunus L. and posing a significant threat to plum growers in many parts of the world. Providing a detailed literature review of the interactions between PPV and its host species, with emphasis on the mechanisms by which the virus spreads and infects its hosts, and the ways in which plants respond to infection. The work also includes a detailed review of plum species and cultivars that exhibit defined levels of resistance to PPV, which is crucial for the development of effective strategies to manage the spread of the disease.
