Abstract:
Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat vývin postav, modernitu a sociální prostředí v románech patřících do pozdní tvorby anglické autorky George Eliotové, konkrétně Middlemarch a Daniel Deronda a ukázat jakým způsobem autorka zobrazuje přechod k moderní společnosti v druhé polovině 19. století.Abstract:
The main aim of the present thesis is to examine character, modernity and social environment in George Eliot’s later fiction, namely the two final novels Middlemarch and Daniel Deronda and show how the author depicts the transition to modern society in the second half of the 19th century.
