Canada: economics and position in the international tourism market

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá zhodnocením postavení Kanady na mezinárodním trhu cestovního ruchu, přičemž hlavním cílem je analýza cestovního ruchu v provincii Québec. Nejprve je zhodnocena ekonomická situace Kanady a její postavení na trhu cestovního ruchu a je vysvětleno, jaký vliv má cestovní ruch na ekonomiku země. V další části práce je pozornost věnována provincii Québec. Ekonomická výkonnost provincie je srovnána s údaji za ostatní kanadské provincie a za ostatní země. Dále je zhodnocen cestovní ruch Québecu. Je analyzováno, jaký druh cestovního ruchu má v provincii největší zastoupení, jaké je národnostní zastoupení na trhu cestovního ruchu v provincii a jaký je hlavní účel účasti na thru cestovního ruchu. V poslední části práce je zhodnocena současná situace cestovního ruchu v Québecu, jsou nastíněny plány do budoucna a jsou analyzovány bariéry, které omezují příjezdový cestovní ruch. Na závěr jsou zjištěné poznatky zhodnoceny pomocí PEST a SWOT analýzy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on evaluation of Canada's position in the international tourism market and the main objective is to analyze the tourism in the Canadian province of Québec. Firstly, the Canadian economic situation and its position in the tourism market will be evaluated and the influence of tourism to the country's economics will be explained. The next part of the thesis is focused on the province Québec. The economic performance of the province is compared to the data for the other Canadian provinces and to other countries. After, the tourism of Québec is evaluated. The analysis concerns the most represented tourism type, the nationalities which are the most represented in the tourism market and the main purpose for tourism in Québec. In the last part, the current tourism situation in Québec is analyzed, the plans for the future are outlined and the barriers which inhibit the inbound tourism are mentioned. In the end, PEST and SWOT analysis are developed.
