The impact of the Great Recession on European labour markets

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá dopady Velké recese na pracovní trhy ve čtyřech evropských zemích: Švédsku, Spojeném království, Itálii a Francii. Každá ze zmíněných zemí zastupuje jiný socioekonomický model. Práce analyzuje vedlejší indikátory, těmi je hrubý domácí produkt, veřejné výdaje, investice, domácí poptávka, čistý export,. Dále se věnuje hlavním indikátorům, a to míře nezaměstnanosti, dočasnému zaměstnání, průměrným ročním mzdám a počtu odpracovaných hodin. Cílem je porozumět rozdílům a podobnostem ve způsobech, jak jednotlivé země s různými socioekonomickými modely reagovaly na Velkou recesi. Práce poskytuje příspěvek k pochopení dopadů této krize na pracovní trhy Evropy.

Abstract:

This paper examines the impact of the Great Recession on labour markets in four European countries: Sweden, the United Kingdom, Italy, and France. Each of these countries represents a different socio-economic model. The paper analyses the secondary indicators, namely gross domestic product, public expenditure, investment, domestic demand, and net exports, as well as the main indicators, namely the unemployment rate, temporary employment, average annual wages, and hours worked. The aim is to understand the differences and similarities in the ways in which different countries with different socio-economic models responded to the Great Recession. The paper provides a contribution to understanding the impact of this crisis on labour markets in Europe.
