Anotace:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou divadelních esejí a her Arthura Millera. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vymezení pojmů „creative writing,“ „theoretical writing“ a také na představení Arthura Millera a jeho života. Analytická část práce se zaměřuje na popis a analýzu esejí „Tragedy and the Common Man,“ „The Nature of Tragedy,“ „On Social Plays,“ „The Family in Modern Drama“ a „The Shadows of the Gods,“ a jak se témata představená v nich odrážejí v jeho hrách All My Sons, Death of a Salesman a The Crucible.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the analysis of Arthur Miller’s theatre essays and plays. The theoretical part focuses on defining the terms “creative writing” and “theoretical writing” as well as introducing Arthur Miller and his life. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the description and analyses of the essays "Tragedy and the Common Man," "The Nature of Tragedy," "On Social Plays," "The Family in Modern Drama" and "The Shadows of the Gods" and how they are reflected in his plays All My Sons, Death of a Salesman and The Crucible.
