Controversial topics in the teaching of geography

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se zaměřuji na výzkum kontroverzních témat ve výuce zeměpisu na 2. stupni ZŠ. Teoretická část se zabývá definicí pojmu kontroverze, rozebírá jednotlivá kontroverzní témata v rámci kurikula zeměpisu typická pro ČR a zahraničí (Anglie, Amerika), porovnává kontroverzní témata v ŠVP v rámci vybraných škol. Dále rozebírá jednotlivé metody, které jsou často užívány během výuky. Praktická část je zaměřena na výzkum kontroverzních témat z pohledu učitelů 2. stupně ZŠ, jejich přístupu ve výuce. Pro výzkum byla použita metoda kvalitativní zaměřená na polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Výzkum byl zanalyzován formou otevřeného kódování. V závěru práce jsou uvedeny výsledky výzkumu, zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky a zhodnoceny tři stanovené hypotézy.

Abstract:

In this bachelor´s thesis I focus on the research of controversial topics in the teaching of geography at the 2nd level of elementary school. The theoretical part deals with the definition of the concept of controversy, discusses various controversial topics in the curriculum of geography typical of the Czech Republic and abroad (England, America) and the theoretical part compares controversial topics in SEP within selected schools. It also discusses the various methods that are often used during teaching. The practical part is focused on the research of controversial topics from the perspective of primary school teachers, their approach in teaching. A qualitative method focused on a semi-structured interview was used for the research. The research was analyzed in the form of open coding. At the end of the thesis, the reaserch results are presented, research questions are answered and three established hypotheses are evaluated.
