Performing business process optimization

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the business process optimization. In the first two chapters of the thesis, there is a summary of the theoretical knowledge about business processes gained from studying the literature given in the list. The first chapter deals with the process management, characteristics and categorisation of business processes from the various points of view, and continuous improvement and reengineering of business processes. A description of the selected methods, standards and software tools for the business process modeling is also a part of this chapter. The second chapter deals with the process analysis and performance and cost of business processes. The third and final chapter represents a practical part of the diploma thesis in which the original state, course and analysis of the process of the attendance record keeping in a real company is described. Based on the analysis, the optimization of the described process is proposed and a project for changing the process is implemented. In the end of this chapter, the benefits of the implementation of the optimized process of the attendance record keeping into practice and the influence of this optimization on other processes taking place in the company are summarised.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zameriava na problematiku optimalizácie podnikových procesov. V prvých dvoch kapitolách práce sú zosumarizované teoretické poznatky z oblasti podnikových procesov získané na základe štúdia literatúry uvedenej v zozname. Prvá kapitola je venovaná procesnému riadeniu, charakteristikám a kategorizácii podnikových procesov z rôznych hľadísk, kontinuálnemu zlepšovaniu a reengineeringu podnikových procesov. Súčasťou tejto kapitoly je aj popis vybraných metodík, štandardov a softvérových nástrojov na modelovanie podnikových procesov. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá procesnou analýzou, výkonnosťou a nákladovosťou podnikových procesov. Záverečná tretia kapitola je praktickou časťou diplomovej práce, ktorá popisuje pôvodný stav, priebeh a analýzu procesu evidencie dochádzky v reálnom podniku. Na základe analýzy je navrhnutá optimalizácia daného procesu a realizovaný projekt zmeny procesu. V závere kapitoly sú zosumarizované prínosy zavedenia optimalizovaného procesu evidencie dochádzky do prevádzky a vplyv tejto optimalizácie na iné procesy prebiehajúce v podniku.
