Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the theme of transience in the artwork Joseph Nechvatal. Nechvatal turns the computer virus into an artform, his work is referred to as the art of noise. I will explore his art in the context of the new media art discourse, especially software studies. I will focus on the use of a computer virus in his artistic work.
