Analysis of the properties of glued laminated beam using recycled wood

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu vlastností 4vrstvého lepeného lamelového nosníku, který byl vyroben s využitím recyklovaného dřeva. Hlavním cílem práce je prozkoumat možnosti využití recyklovaného dřeva jako udržitelného materiálu pro výrobu nosných konstrukčních prvků a posoudit jeho vliv na mechanické a fyzikální vlastnosti. V teoretické části práce je představena problematika recyklovaného dřeva, jeho zpracování a příprava pro další využití. Experimentální část práce je zaměřena na výrobu lepených nosníků s různým podílem recyklovaného dřeva a následné testování jejich vlastností, zejména pevnosti v ohybu a globálního modulu pružnosti. Výsledky testů jsou analyzovány a porovnány s nosníky vyrobenými z čistě nového dřeva, aby bylo možné určit, jaký vliv má recyklovaný materiál na vlastnosti nosníků. Práce také zahrnuje diskusi ekologických aspektech využití recyklovaného dřeva ve stavebnictví. Cílem této analýzy je poskytnout podklady pro lepší pochopení potenciálu recyklovaného dřeva v oblasti stavebních materiálů a přispět k rozvoji udržitelných stavebních standardů.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the analysis of the properties of a 4-layer glued laminated beam that was manufactured using recycled wood. The main objective of the thesis is to investigate the possibilities of using recycled wood as a sustainable material for the production of load bearing structural elements and to assess its influence on the mechanical and physical properties. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the problems of recycled wood, its processing and preparation for further use are presented. The experimental part of the thesis focuses on the production of glued beams with different proportions of recycled wood and subsequent testing of their properties, especially flexural strength and global modulus of elasticity. The test results are analysed and compared with beams made from virgin wood to determine the effect of recycled material on the beams' properties. The work also includes a discussion of the environmental aspects of the use of recycled timber in construction. The aim of this analysis is to provide a basis for a better understanding of the potential of recycled timber in building materials and to contribute to the development of sustainable building standards.
