The Laboratory Diagnotics of Anaerobic Capacity - Comparison of Different Methods for the VO2 max Determination

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je laboratorní diagnostika aerobních schopností a s ní spojené porovnání přímých a nepřímých metod stanovení maximální spotřeby kyslíku. V teoretické části práce nalezneme přehled testových protokolů pro stanovení maximální spotřeby kyslíku a aerobní výkonnosti. Dále obsahuje základní pojmy, které úzce souvisí s danou tématikou. Případová studie je provedena na souboru pěti vybraných studentů pedagogické fakulty v Liberci, u nichž jsme stanovili maximální spotřebu kyslíku a aerobní výkonnost pomocí 3 testů. Porovnáván je test spiroergometrie, Cooperův test a Queen College Step Test. Testováno je buď přímou metodou, kde hodnotu maximální spotřeby kyslíku určil speciální přístroj, nebo nepřímou metodou, kde se jednotlivé výsledky dopočítávají pomocí predikčních rovnic. Testové protokoly a jejich výsledky mohou mít značnou výhodu pro sportovce, kteří pomocí zjištěných dat mohou zvýšit efektivitu svého tréninku. Nepřímá metoda je velice výhodnou pro osoby se srdečním onemocněním, pro které není testování do maxima doporučováno.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is a laboratory diagnostics of aerobic and anaerobic capabilities and a comparison of direct and indirect methods dealing with maximal oxygen consumption. I the theoretical part we find the summary of test records dealing with maximal oxygen consumption and aerobic performance. Furthermore, it contains the basic terms which are related with the subject matter. In the research we have accidentally chosen five students of pedagogical university in Liberec. We measured their maximal oxygen consumption and aerobic performance by three kinds of tests spiroergometry, Cooper's test and Queen College Step Test. The testing was carried out either by direct or by indirect method, where the highest figure of maximal oxygen consumption was measured by a special device. In the indirect method the particular results were counted by means of predicate equations. On the basis of the test records and their results, athletes can improve the efficiency of their trainings. The indirect method is recommended to people with heart problems who should avoid the practical measurements to maximal strain.
