Medial map of university students magazines in Brno in the year 2009 with regard to their culture of language

Abstract:

Cílem mé práce je popsat jednotlivé tištěné studenstké časopisy, které vytvářejí sami studenti na vysokých školách v Brně. Doplněním práce je deskripce jazykové kultury těchto časopisů ilustrovaná na konkrétních gramatických a stylistických chybách a překlepech. Studentské časopisy jsou charakteristické tím, že je redaktoři tvoří dobrovolně, za jejich vydáváním nestojí žádné obchodní ani reklamní ambice. Současně je tento druh média velice nestálý. Celý časopis stojí jen na dobrovolné aktivitě několika lidí, každé další číslo může být poslední. Tato práce popisuje současný stav sedmi vybraných časopisů v roce 2009. Přínos této práce je v tom, že se věnuje dosud nepopsané části mediální tvorby a může posloužit jako podklad pro hlubší analýzu například naznačené jazykové kultury časopisů.

Abstract:

The goal of my theses is to describe students’ printed magazines that are created by university students in Brno. In the theses supplement, I depict the culture of language of these magazines. The culture of language is exemplified in particular grammar and stylistic mistakes. Main feature of students’ magazines is that they are made by volunteers; there is no commercial concern over publishing them. At once, this kind of media is very instable. The magazine itself is based on volunteer work of several people, every copy can be the last. My theses describes the current state of particular seven magazines in the year 2009. The contribution of my theses lies in presenting the part of media production that has not yet been described and it could answer for a background of detailed analyses of students’ magazines – for example detailed analyses of presented culture of language.
