Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladatelskou činností. Jejím cílem je komparace nabízených služeb překladatelů a překladatelských agentur v Českých Budějovicích, a to za účelem realizace konkrétní zakázky. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První, teoretická část, pojednává o základních principech tohoto odvětví. Zabývá se definicí překladu, sleduje charakteristiku práce překladatele, jeho kvalifikaci a představuje základní překladatelské organizace. Podstatnou součástí této části je i popis základních druhů překladů, překladatelského softwaru a v neposlední řadě také výběru překladatele. Jsou zde zbořeny i některé překladatelské mýty. Druhá část bakalářské práce aplikuje teoretické poznatky a na základě marketingového výzkumu a konkrétní poptávky zjišťuje stav překladatelského trhu v Českých Budějovicích. Podrobněji také rozebírá atribut ceny a vybírá, i díky SWOT analýze, nejlepšího překladatele pro danou zakázku. Práce obsahuje také konkrétní doporučení, jak správně postupovat při realizaci překladu. Na závěr také zhodnocuje výsledky a podává doporučení překladatelům a zákazníkům, kterým může sloužit i jako metodická příručka.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with translation work. Its objective is to compare the services offered by translators and translation agencies in the city of České Budějovice, for the purpose of implementing a specific contract. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and deals with the basic principles of the industry. It covers the definition of a translation, follows the features of a translator's work and the translator's qualifications and introduces the basic translation organisations. An important part of this section is a description of the basic types of translation, translation software and, last but not least, the process of selecting a translator. Part one also goes on to debunk certain translation myths. The second part deals with the application of theoretical knowledge. On the basis of marketing research and a specific order, the situation on the translation market in České Budějovice is established. The price attribute is analysed in more detail, a SWOT analysis performed, and the best translator chosen for the given contract. Recommendations are also put forward as to what the correct procedure is when delivering a translation. The thesis concludes with an assessment of the results. The recommendations flowing from the assessment are to be made available to translators and clients who may find the thesis useful as a methodical guide.
