The motive of prohibition in japanese fairytales and myths

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the motif of prohibition in selected fairy tales and myths from Japan and Central Europe. In this thesis I try to define the differences in the depiction of this motif in different cultures, and also to characterize the progression of the motif of prohibition in Japanese stories by using literary analysis and comparison. In this thesis, I ask the research questions, "What is the typical narrative of Japanese fairy tales and myths with the prohibition motif?" and "Does the progression of the prohibition motif in Japanese stories differ from that of European stories?"

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca skúma motív zákazu vo vybraných rozprávkach a mýtoch z Japonska a zo strednej Európy. V práci sa snažím pomocou literárnej analýzy a komparácie diel definovať rozdiely v zobrazení tohto motívu v pojatí rôznych kultúr, a tiež charakterizovať priebeh motívu zákazu v japonských príbehoch. V práci si kladiem výskumné otázky: „Aký je typický priebeh deja japonských rozprávok a mýtov s motívom zákazu?“ a „Líši sa priebeh motívu zákazu v japonských príbehoch od príbehov z Európy?“
