Life situations of users of the shelter for women and mothers with children - suggestions for social work

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou životních situací uživatelek azylového domu pro ženy a matky s dětmi. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, jak uživatelky azylového domu pro ženy a matky s dětmi vnímají svou současnou životní situaci, co jí předcházelo a jaké mají představy o budoucnosti své a svých dětí. Dílčím cílem je zaznamenat případné podněty pro sociální práci. V teoretické části jsou popsána témata, jež souvisí s životními situacemi, sociální prací jako způsobu pomoci v obtížných životních situacích a azylovými domy. Výzkumná část umožnila na základě kvalitativní výzkumné strategie zodpovědět kladené výzkumné otázky a objasnit cíle práce. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že uživatelky azylového domu pro ženy a matky s dětmi vnímají svou současnou životní situaci pozitivně a nemají příliš vysoké ambice ohledně své budoucnosti ani budoucnosti svých dětí. Pobytu v azylovém domě předcházely náročné až krizové životní situace, jejichž příčinou byly zejména problematické partnerské vztahy.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issues regarding the life situations of clients in the shelter for women and mothers with children. The main goal of the thesis is to find out how the users of the shelter for women and mothers with children perceive their current life situations, what preceded their arrival and what are their and their children's future expectations. A partial objective is to catch any suggestions for social work. The theoretical part of the thesis describes topics which are connected with the life situations, and using social work as a way to help with the difficult life situations and a shelters. Qualitative research was used to form a response to the research questions and clarify the goal of the thesis. The outcome of the thesis determined that users of the shelter for women and mothers with children perceive their current situations in a positive way and don't have very big ambitions about their own future, nor the future of their children. Their stay in the shelter was preceded by demanding life situations or crises, which were caused by problematic partnerships.
