The information revolution in Senegal

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou informačních a komunikačních technologií v rozvojovém světě a to konkrétně v Senegalu. Jejím cílem je zjistit, jakým způsobem ovlivňují rozhlas, televize a Internet demokratizační rozvoj společnosti. První část práce je zaměřena na historický úvod informačních a komunikačních technologií v Senegalu a zdůrazňuje spojitosti mezi hlavními přelomovými obdobími moderní senegalské historie a rostoucím společenským vlivem těchto technologií. Druhá část již podrobně zkoumá dopady informačních a komunikačních technologií na senegalskou společnost, kulturu, ekonomiku a politiku.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with information and communication technologies in the developing world and particularly in Senegal. Its aim is to determine how the radio, television and Internet affect the democratization development of Senegalese society. The first part focuses on the historical introduction of information and communication technologies in Senegal and emphasizes the connection between the major turning point of modern history of Senegal and the growing social impact of information and communication technologies. The second part explores the impact of information and communication technologies on Senegalese society, culture, economy and politics.
