Effect of Canistherapy on the school results of children with manifestations of ADS

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem canisterapie na školní výsledky dětí s projevy poruchy autistického spektra. Teoretická část popisuje poruchy autistického spektra, školní práce a intervence jedinců s PAS. Intervence jedinců s PAS je zde zaměřena na terapii formou canisterapie. Praktická část byla zaměřena na zkoumání vlivu canisterapie na 40 žáků s PAS z různých školních zařízení a jejich školní výsledky. Výzkum byl prováděn u 20 žáků s PAS, kteří podstupují canisterapii a 20 žáků s PAS, kteří canisterapii nepodstupují. Pomocí testů funkčních schopností proběhlo vyhodnocení školní úspěšnosti těchto žáků ve zvládání činností v oblasti sociálně komunikační a sociálně emočním porozumění, oblasti adaptability, představivosti, stereotypních činností, vyhraněných zájmů, oblasti atypie v senzorickém vnímání a chování, oblasti řeči a intelektových schopností a oblasti motorických a grafomotorických schopností. Výsledkem práce je vyhodnocení bodového skóre funkčních testů pomocí škálování. Publikované výsledky mohou přispět k významnějšímu využívání canisterapie při práci s žáky s poruchou autistického spektra ve školních zařízeních.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the influence of a canistherapy on school results of children with manifestations of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The theoretical part describes autism spectrum disorders, school work and interventions of individuals with ASD. Intervention of individuals with ASD aims on therapy in the form of canistherapy. The practical part aims on examining the effect of canistherapy on 40 pupils with ASD from various school facilities and their school results. The research was performed on 20 pupils with ASD who are undergoing the canistherapy and on 20 pupils who are not undergoing the canistherapy. The evaluation of the school success of these pupils in managing activities in the field of social communication and socio-emotional understanding, adaptability, imagination, stereotypical activities, strong interests, atypical in sensory perception and behaviour, speech and intellectual abilities and motor skills and graphomotor abilities has been done by using operation tests. The result of this research is the evaluation of the score of operation tests by using scaling. Published results may contribute to a more significant use of canistherapy when working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder in school facilities.
