Penitentiary and postpenitentiary care services from the perspective of imprisoned persons and workers of Salvation Army

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je věnována problematice služeb penitenciární a postpenitenciární péče. První kapitola charakterizuje delikventní chování, kriminalitu, náležitosti výkonu trestu odnětí svobody a upozorňuje na dopady věznění do života odsouzených. Druhá kapitola popisuje vybrané kapitoly vězeňské problematiky, jako je výkon alternativních trestů, programy zacházení, působení Vězeňské duchovenské péče, závěr patří postpenitenciární péči. Třetí kapitola se věnuje organizaci Armády spásy, její historii, otázkám evangelizace a oblastem působnosti v ČR včetně registrovaných sociálních služeb. Výzkumná část mapuje jednotlivé aspekty poskytování služeb penitenciární a postpenitenciární péče, které jsou odsouzeným poskytovány Armádou spásy během výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Zjišťuje, jaké služby jsou nejčastěji poskytovány a využívány, jaké jsou důvody pro (ne)využití služeb, v čem jsou služby přínosné nebo naopak problematické.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with issues of penitentiary and postpenitentiary care services. The general part characterizes social pathologic phenomena in society, deliquent behaviour, criminality, the execution of imprisonment, it points out the impacts of imprisonment to the living of released people. The second chapter brings closer the sense of selected issues of prison service, such as alternative sentences, treatment programmes, pastoral service in prison or postpenitentiary care. The third chapter deals with issues of The Salvation Army organisation, its history, evangelism and the fields of activity including registered social services. The practical part analyses particular aspects of providing of penitentiary and postpenitentiary care services which are offered by The Salvation Army to convicted people. It finds out which services are most often used and provided, what are the motives for (non)using of the services, what is the contribution of these services, in which ways is the providing problematic.
