Myšovití hlodavci Konga s důrazem na taxonomii rodu Praomys

Congolese murids (Rodentia: Muridae) with focus on Praomys taxonomy

Abstract:

Přestože hlodavci tvoří velmi významnou skupinu savců, stále patří k nejméně prozkoumaným obratlovcům. Tento stav je znatelný zejména v tropických oblastech, např. v centrální Africe. V posledních letech narůstá počet molekulárních studií, které pomáhají popsat diverzitu a taxonomii afrických myšovitých hlodavců, nicméně terénní práci nahradit nelze a proto je nutné přistupovat k průzkumu odlehlých neprobádaných území. Jedním z takových je Konžská republika v centrální Africe, na jejíž drobné hlodavce (zejména pak druhově bohatý rod Praomys) se zaměřuji ve své práci. Prezentuji shrnutí dosud publikovaných údajů o myšovitých (Muridae) Konžské republiky a okolních zemí a o všech známých druzích rodu Praomys (tj. 17 popsaných, dva dosud nepopsané – Praomys sp. A, Praomys sp. B; a jeden popsaný pouze v rámci disertační práce – P. kikwit). Zpracovávám dále genetická data vedoucího mé bakalářské práce (cytochrom b) získaná z hlodavců vzorkovaných při terénním průzkumu jihozápadního Konga (tzv. DNA barcoding). V tomto materiálu bylo určeno celkem 10 druhů myšovitých hlodavců dvou podčeledí (Deomyinae a Murinae). Nejpočetněji byl zastoupen nedávno popsaný lesní druh Hylomyscus walterverheyeni. Díky tomuto odchytu jihozápadním Kongu byl rozšířen známý geografický areál pro Heimyscus fumosus, H. walterverheyeni, Praomys sp. B, Praomys misonnei, Mus setulosus o stovky kilometrů; pro Mus cf. gratus se jedná o první nález v Konžské republice a rozšíření areálu o více než 1300 km. Ve druhé části analyzuji sekvence cytochromu b pro celý tribus Praomyini se zaměřením na rod Praomys. V souladu s publikovanými údaji je identifikováno pět druhových komplexů (komplex P. tullbergi, P. jacksoni, P. daltoni, P. delectorum a P. lukolelae). Poslední dva jsou fylogeneticky vzdálené ostatním komplexům a jeví se příbuznější jiným rodům v rámci Praomyini. V důsledku toho faktu by druhy komplexů P. delectorum a P. lukolelae měly být zahrnuty pod jiný rodový název. Předkládám zde první fylogenetickou analýzu, ve které jsou zahrnuty všechny (i dosud nepopsané) druhy rodu Praomys. Přehledně jsem ukázala, že stále oficiálně nepopsaný druh P. kikwit je součástí komplexu P. lukolelae a rozšířila dosud známý areál druhu Praomys sp. B, jehož výrazná vnitrodruhová diverzita je diskutována v geografickém kontextu.

Abstract:

Although the rodents form a very important group of mammals are still one of the least explored vertebrates. This situation is noticeable especially in tropical areas, for example in Central Africa. In recent years, a growing number of molecular studies which help describe the diversity and taxonomy of African murinae rodents, but cannot replace a field research and therefore it is necessary to approach the exploration of distant unexplored areas. One of these is the Republic of Congo in Central Africa, whose rodents (especially species-rich genus Praomys) I focus on in my work. I present a summary of published data on Muridae from the Republic of Congo and neighboring countries, and I focus on all known species of the Praomys genus (ie. 17 described species, two previously undescribed - Praomys sp. A Praomys sp. B and one described only in the context of the dissertation thesis - P. Kikwit). Further, I analyse my supervisor’s genetic data (cytochrome b) which were obtained from rodents sampled during a field research of southwestern Congo (ie. DNA barcoding). From this material were determined 10 species of murinae rodents of two subfamilies (Deomyinae and Murinae). The most common was recently described forest species Hylomyscus walterverheyeni. With this capture in southwestern Congo was extended a geographic area known for Heimyscus fumosus, H. walterverheyeni, Praomys sp. B, Praomys misonnei, Mus setulosus for hundreds of kilometers; for Mus cf. gratus this is the first finding in the Republic of Congo and it also means an extending the area of more than 1300 km. In the second part I analyse sequences of the cytochrome b for the whole tribus Praomyini with a focus on family Praomys. In accordance with published data are identified five species complex (complex P. tullbergi, P. jacksoni, P. daltoni, P. delectorum and P. lukolelae). The last two are phylogenetically distant to other complexes and they seem to be more closely related to other family within Praomyini. As a consequence of the fact the species of complexes P. delectorum and P. lukolelae should be described by a different family name. Here I present the first phylogenetic analysis, which includes all the (even undescribed) species of family Praomys. I have clearly shown, that formarlly undescribe species P. kikwit is one of the complex P. lukolelae and I have expanded the known area of the species Praomys sp. B, whose a significant interspecies diversity is discussed in a geographic context.
